XII Sibyllarum imagines in aes eleganter incisae additae insvper singvlarvm breves descriptiones. Vna cvm praecipvis oracvlorum mysterijs versibus expressis 1698.

The manuscript contains 47 leaves, of which 12 are blank. It begins with a short introduction by Antonius Checchius, written in his own hand and dated in Rome, 14 June 1698. The author, who put together this compilation, mentions the important book Oracula Sibyllina by Johannes Opsopäus, illustrated with prints, which he consulted in its Parisian edition of 1599, found in the Archilijeri(?) library in Rome, with the shelf no. MMD.28. The next 21 leaves are written on both sides in a professional hand, and were presumably compiled by Antonio Checchi. They contain a general presentation of the sibyls as known from various published sources mentioned in the text. All texts are in Latin.

1 v. (47 leaves, unpaginated) : ill (etchings) ; 25.5 cm.
